Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko a month after the fight with Anthony Joshua analyzed and summed up the fight.
His thoughts Klitschko published on his social network page.
"At the end of April, I fought with Anthony Joshua, taking, therefore, the biggest possible challenge. While boxing in front of the 90-thousand-strong Wembley Stadium, as well as millions of viewers in more than 150 countries, I fought my whole life against a young Englishman. I went to this fight to defeat the best of the best. Unfortunately, I was not able to reach my goal. The result of the battle was the victory of my opponent. But, however absurd it may sound, I also left the ring as the winner.
Before the fight I was 100% sure of my victory. I prepared as well as it was possible, I felt that I was in the best shape of my life, and I was obsessed with the goal of regaining the world title. In the battle I gave myself all up without a trace.
I need time to put up with the fact that I did not win in the ring, but I immediately felt the growth of recognition and respect. When I showed up at the Wembley Stadium on April 29, most of the viewers booed me. Joshua had a clear advantage at home, like the Englishman. But when I left the ring, it felt like shivers ran through my skin.
I was applauded by tens of thousands of people who, before the battle, wanted me to be beaten.
I felt enthusiasm, inspiration and respect: me, my performance, my fair fight and my whole boxing. I could not wish for anything better, "Klitschko wrote.
Recall, on the night of 29 to 30 April at the stadium, "Wembley" Ukrainian in the 11th round ahead of schedule lost to Joshua. In this fight at stake were the championship belts by versions IBF, IBO and WBA.
