From 13 to 15 May in Lviv hosted the Ukrainian judo championship among boys and girls up to 16 and up to 15 years. Kharkov region team returned home with 1 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals. Almost all of them, including gold, were won in the senior age category to 16 years, where the team took the third team place, losing only to the athletes from the Kiev region and the winners from the city of Kiev.
Champion of Ukraine in weight up to 73 kg was Alexander Tarovitov, who in the final defeated an opponent from the Zaporozhye region Vadim Leontiev.
Silver medalists of the championship among athletes under 16 became: Nikita Chikarda (weight category - up to 42 kg), Daniil Vegiev (weight category - up to 55 kg), Kizimenko Denis (weight category - up to 66 kg) and Margarita Sotnikova (weight category - 44 kg).
Bronze awards won:
Denis Kravchuk (weight category - up to 46 kg), Egor Kuzin (weight category - up to 66 kg) and Anastasia Krasnikov (weight category - over 63 kg).
Kharkov won three more medals in the category of up to 15 years. Markekko Nikita became a silver medalist in the weight category up to 60 kg. Gordei Aydinov (weight category - up to 55 kg) and Daniel Kalita (weight category - up to 66 kg) won bronze medals.
