Ukrainian tennis player Anastasia Zaritskaya will now perform under the flag of the Czech Republic. The sportswoman decided to change her citizenship.

"I lived here for a long time, so for me it was an obvious step to get Czech citizenship. I have longed for this for a very long time and I am glad that it finally happened.

Do I feel more like a Czech than a Ukrainian? I did not even think about it. I believe that this combination of nationalities characterizes me as a person.

I gladly come to Ukraine when I find a free place in my calendar, "- said Zaritskaya.

Note that the athlete was born in Prague, but spent her childhood in Ukraine. At the age of 9 returned to the Czech Republic, but until 2017 continued to speak for the Ukrainian national team.

The greatest success of Anastasia in junior sport is the doubles pair Australian Open ending in 2016 paired with Dayana Yastremskaya. Now the athlete is at the 478th position in the WTA ranking.
