French "Lyon" and Turkish "Besiktas" were suspended from participation in European competition for one season with a probation period of two years.

This was reported in the press service of UEFA.

This decision of the organization was made in connection with the riots of the fans of both teams during the first match of the quarter-finals of the Europa League, which because of this took place 45 minutes later.

That meeting ended with the victory of the French team with a score of 2: 1.

Also, both clubs will be forced to pay a fine of 100 thousand euros.

In case of repeated violations by "Lyon" and "Besiktas" within two years, the sanction in the form of suspension for one season will be applied.
