In Ukraine they are preparing to launch a new digital service - online divorce through the " It is expected that the service may become available to citizens by the end of summer. The preparatory stage is currently underway and beta testing of the function has been announced. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Justice for Digital Transformation Olga Ryabukha.

According to her, a full beta test is planned to begin in about two weeks.. It will involve about 250 couples, who will test the new service in real conditions for about one month.. Only adult citizens of Ukraine who do not have common minor children will be able to use the service.. The system will automatically check this information, and if it does not match, it will be impossible to generate an application.

The divorce procedure involves filing an application through the " Users must provide their data and the data of the second spouse. After this, the system will check the documents, in particular the passport and registration number of the taxpayer’s account card. The next step will be choosing a date for a video conference with the state registrar. Also, the parties must pay an administrative fee and sign the application using an electronic signature “Diya. Signature"

After submitting the documents, the mandatory waiting period begins, which is 31 days plus one additional day. During this period, each spouse has the right to withdraw the application or report a change in the decision on divorce.

After the waiting period has expired, a video conference will take place with the state registrar, who will verify the voluntariness of the decision of both parties. If the intention is confirmed, an act of divorce will be drawn up..

A paper divorce certificate will be sent by mail. The Ministry of Justice emphasizes that the new procedure is fully consistent with the offline process, which is carried out through the state civil registration authorities.

" The rights of both parties are clearly protected, and either spouse can waive this at any time.

That is, if there is no consent of both spouses, no one will draw up a divorce deed. Therefore, all risks are minimized here,” Ryabukha noted..

Let us remind you that on June 18 it became known that beta testing of a new online divorce service was starting in the Diya application, which should transfer the divorce procedure to a completely digital format. Test participants will be able to submit an application, go through a video conference and receive a divorce certificate without a personal visit to government agencies.
