Regardless of which Orthodox calendar you observe - new or old - you are probably interested in how long you can store water consecrated on the day of baptism. According to the new style, this holiday falls on January 6, and in the old one - at 19.

Previously, water consecrated on baptism is recommended not to be stored in plastic, but in glass containers. The bank or bottle must first be washed thoroughly so that there are no extraneous smells left on it. If you still consecrated water in a plastic vessel, try to quickly pour it into glass.

However, it is important that first in the bottle where you pour the holy water, alcoholic beverages are not stored. This sequence is considered wrong.

Keep a vessel with holy water in a cozy place where it will not be in sight. Water should not even be randomly exposed to the bad eye. Therefore, it is best to put a bottle or a jar in a closed cabinet or in a pantry and get out of there only if necessary.

Usually, if you gained clean water for consecration and poured it into a well -washed vessel, it will be stored for a very long time - not only until the next baptism, but also longer. The shelf life of such a liquid is not limited.

If the sacred water deteriorated - it bloomed or clouded, pour it right into the sink or to the ground. It is better to pour such water into the nearest reservoir. It is also allowed to sprinkle animals and household buildings.

Epiphany water is considered Christians as a shrine and it is necessary to treat it respectfully. It must be stored carefully and use it if necessary.
