Sofia Yablonskaya was a writer, a traveler, a documentary journalist, as they would say today, a travel-blogger-the first woman in history, who became famous in this genre at the beginning of the twentieth century, when a society was sure that it was purely male classes. Yablonskaya traveled half a world:

she visited the Sahara with a risk to her life, where she almost was captured by the natives, was a guest at the wedding of the Vietnamese Emperor Bao-Dai, participated in the hunting of the tiger, almost died from the bit of the snake and the juice of the poisonous orchid, and was visiting.

But always and everywhere, wherever Sofia lived, she received letters from Ukraine, in which she was written about the latest news from her homeland, sent poems, texts of folk songs and even patterns of patterns for embroidery. And Sofia never parted with the Hutsul-Matan doll and a volume of Kobzar.
