The pilot MiG-29, the commander of the aviation squadron of the 114th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Ivan Smergechansky (Smereka ”), said that after reports on the transfer of aircraft to the infantry in the air force, a special commission was indeed created. She analyzes the criticality of posts, without which the whole system simply will not work.

Smerechansky added that, as reported by the leadership of the Armed Forces, the transfer of aircraft technicians to the infantry should not affect.

The pilot noted that the airfield is like a state in the state, so there are many people to serve it. These are, in particular, security, people responsible for communications, flight control group, weather service. And also, of course, the engineering and technical staff, highly specialized specialists. And all the people working on the ground could be the target of Russian strikes.

At the same time, according to Smereki, there have already been several cases of transferring people from the battalion of airfields and security company.

“This is being removed from the lists, that is, you are being transferred to another branch of the military.. If earlier we sent people - they were volunteers, 2022, the beginning of a full-scale, people voluntarily then from the Armed Forces were sent to carry out combat missions in some unit of the Ground Forces. Then they returned back to the air forces and further performed their duties at the airfield. Now this is already being transferred to another branch of the military,” said the pilot.

Let us recall that a special commission was created in the Air Force. It works to prevent the transfer of military personnel from scarce specialties, which can significantly affect the combat effectiveness of units.

– Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially denied rumors about the transfer of specialists from the aviation engineering service of the Air Force to infantry units. They assured that such a step was not planned and is not planned, and the Air Force, on the contrary, is increasing the staff of technical and flight personnel.

- President Vladimir Zelensky said that when transferring certain military from different types of troops to infantry units, his demand will not be taken into account by the composition of specialists. First of all, this applies to air engineers.

– Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said that by his order he prohibited sending aircraft maintenance specialists to the infantry. At the same time, he pointed out the need to equip combat brigades with personnel, mobilization at the current level with this task is sufficiently unable to cope.
