The period for re-examination for persons deemed to be of limited fitness will be extended. Deputy Head of the Office of the President Irina Vereshchuk said that millions of Ukrainians who previously received the status of “limitedly fit” will not have time to undergo the VLK before February 4, as required by law, so an extension of this period by at least three months has been initiated.

She said about this on the air of the All -Ukrainian telemarathon. The president’s office began to receive appeals from public organizations and citizens about this problem, which forced the team to carefully study the situation.

" We analyzed it, really saw that there was a problem, reported to the President and received instructions to take all urgent measures to adequately solve the problem that has developed today,” Vereshchuk said.

Currently, work is underway on the necessary changes to the legislation, in particular, to extend the period for undergoing a medical examination by at least 3 months and deferring fines.

It is also planned to amend Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 560 so that Ukrainians can receive notifications about the date and time of the VLK in electronic form.

In addition, it is planned to optimize the work schedules of the VLK and the distribution of persons into categories: military, military liability, reservists and persons who have not yet been 25 years old.

“We are resolving issues with schedules, with the directions themselves, with categories of people, because we have different categories of those who are of limited use:

there are military personnel, there are those liable for military service, reservists, there are those who are under 25 years old,” explained Vereshchuk.

The Deputy Head of the President’s office added that changes will be initiated for limited suitable mobilization age so that they have not yet passed the VLK and are not fined. Let us remind you that from January 2025, electronic directions for passing the VLK will become available in the “Reserve+” system. The Ministry of Defense continues to introduce a comprehensive reform of military medical examination in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
