Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine, with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense and the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained former commanders - two generals and a colonel - due to whose negligence the enemy was able to seize part of the territory of the Kharkiv region in May 2024. This is a brigadier general who held the position of commander of the operational-tactical group "

They have already been detained. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, they will receive suspicions in accordance with the crimes committed for:.

– h. 4 tbsp. 425 of the Criminal Code (negligent attitude towards military service, committed under martial law);

– st. 429 of the Criminal Code, additionally for the former commander of 415 OSB (organization of unauthorized abandonment of the battlefield).

This is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The State Bureau of Investigation believes that due to the negligence of former commanders of the Russian Armed Forces, they were able to seize part of the Lipetsk rural territorial community of the Kharkov region.

This also led to the loss of personnel and weapons, and measures to defend the state border in their area of \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bresponsibility were disrupted.

The brigadier general, according to the investigation, determined defense positions for 125 OBR TRO that did not correspond to its capabilities.

He had other units that could have strengthened these positions, but he did not send them there.

The commander also made a number of other mistakes, including not fully clarifying the direction of the enemy’s main attacks; did not sufficiently control the preparation and conduct of defense actions; did not make a timely maneuver with the forces and means of the group; did not organize support for soldiers with artillery and air forces.

The former commander of the 125th separate TRO brigade, lieutenant general, also underestimated the enemy’s capabilities and inadequately responded to the enemy’s increase in combat potential and threats.

He did not ensure the arrangement of combat guard positions, did not take measures to staff the brigade, assigned inflated combat missions to the battalions and, without conducting operational-tactical calculations, did not organize the proper equipment of strong points, engineering barriers, etc..

Having information about the preparation of the offensive, he did not convey it to his subordinates. And already during the battle he did not organize proper fire support for the units and did not ensure the effective use of brigade reserves and interaction with other units.

The colonel, former commander of the 415th battalion of the 23rd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, did not organize a defensive battle in the settlements of Strelechya, Krasnoye, Liptsy, Slobozhanskoye. He did not determine which objects to include in strong points and how to prepare them for defense.

During the repulse of the Russian offensive, he did not report to the senior commander about the results of the battle, did not take measures to stop the unauthorized departure of 12 battalion soldiers, and single-handedly issued a combat order in the absence of an order from the senior commander. The former battalion commander ignored and did not comply with the order of the brigade commander to resume lost positions.

Because of these violations, the enemy, building on his success, captured the positions of units of the first and second echelon battalions, which led to the loss of personnel, the enemy’s penetration into the defense zone at a distance of up to 10 km in depth and the loss of control over part of the territory along the state border of Ukraine.

Complemented.
