In Ukraine, the weather in the second half of January will surprise with abnormal temperatures. The thermometers will not drop to large “minuses” even at night, and during the day they will rise to record “pluses” for winter..
In general, virtually no precipitation is expected until the end of the month.. On Saturday, January 19, there will still be light wet snow and rain in the eastern regions, but from this day dry weather without precipitation will prevail throughout Ukraine.
Warming is expected throughout Ukraine from January 20. At the beginning of the week, the air temperature will warm up to +6 during the day, and from Tuesday it will rise by another 2 degrees.
So, already on January 21-22, daytime temperatures will be at +2…+8 degrees. And in the south of the country and in Crimea, the temperatures will rise to a record +11 degrees. And although the night temperature will fluctuate around zero within -4...+2 degrees, throughout the country all the snow cover will melt. Only in the western regions will there still be icy conditions in some places in the coming days, which, however, will disappear by the end of next week.
The warming situation will also affect the snow cover in the Carpathians.
“Now, thanks to not too high daytime temperatures and frosts at night, snow remains there, but starting from January 21, the snow cover will begin to melt in the Carpathians,” said Ptukha.
Until the end of January, forecasters do not expect new snow to be added;
on the contrary, it is predicted to melt where it is, in particular, in the highlands of the Carpathians.
“We can’t say whether it will completely melt, but it will definitely melt,” warned Natalya Ptukha.
Let us remind you that according to the forecast of Ukrainian weather forecaster Natalka Didenko, at the end of January warming atypical for winter is expected in Ukraine. In particular, in the southwest of the country the air temperature during the day can jump to +20.
