On the occasion of the International Nurse's Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented state awards to medical workers who have been helping the wounded since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the press service of the head of state reports..

Those present honored with a minute of silence the memory of the dead nurses who saved the defenders of Ukraine.



The head of state also inspected the new building of the Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health in Kyiv, an angiographic operating room and an intensive care unit.

During a visit to a medical facility, Zelensky spoke with 12-year-old patient Vladislav Goncharuk, who, together with his family, was hiding in a basement in the village of Demidov, Kyiv region, for over two weeks, fleeing enemy shelling, and with 99-year-old participant in World War II, Petro Khmelniker, who is several years old. back specialists of the Center performed aortic valve replacement surgery.
