Since the beginning of the year, the border service has recorded more than a thousand attempts to bribe border guards. Most of them were about crossing the border without going through self-isolation, a negative PCR test, or insurance covering the cost of COVID-19 treatment..

This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.

The total amount of bribes that have been offered to border guards since the beginning of the year amounted to 1.5 million hryvnia in national and foreign currency.

Compared to last year, this figure increased by more than 60%:

during 9 months of 2020, there were only 380 attempts to bribe border guards, and the amount was 800 thousand hryvnia.
