The State Environmental Inspection with law enforcement officers is already conducting raids to identify violations of environmental legislation in the paragraph on " Violators will be fined from UAH 340 to 3655.

This is reported by "

“On my instructions, all territorial bodies of the SEI began to carry out enhanced measures to preserve early flowering flora, including those that are in the Red Book of Ukraine. Among them are ordinary snowdrop, Geyfel's saffron (crocus), spring white flowers ”, - the press service quotes the head of the SEI Andrey Malevanny.

According to Malevanny, violators will be fined (from 1700 to 3655 hryvnia in accordance with article 88-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses or 340-510 hryvnia in accordance with article 90 of the Administrative Code) for damage to the environment. He is confident that such increased control will make the sale of primroses a risky and unprofitable business, because the potential losses from paying fines and damages will exceed the potential income..

The official also stressed that every year the beginning of spring becomes a disaster for the Red Book primroses..

“Last year, the State Environmental Inspection, in early March alone, recorded 206 cases of illegal sale of primroses. These are thousands of flowers, the losses from the destruction of which amounted to more than 700,000 hryvnia "

He noted that, like any other plant, early flowering species have their own importance for the ecosystem in which they grow.. In his opinion, their final destruction will lead to irreversible environmental changes that will affect humans..
