President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with the Deputy Minister of Health and Chief State Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko the start of vaccination in Ukraine.

Viktor Lyashko informed the Head of State that on February 22 two vaccines against COVID-19 were registered in our country - drugs Pfizer / BioNTech and Covishield.

He noted that the first batch of Covishield vaccine in the amount of 500 thousand. doses have already arrived in Ukraine. The drug was delivered from the Boryspil International Airport to the Ukrprompostach warehouse, and the vaccine will be delivered to the regions on February 24.

Viktor Lyashko said that the Covishield vaccine was produced at an Indian plant under a license from AstraZeneca. Vaccination with the drug is carried out in two stages.

The head of state focused on the fact that the logistics of supplying vaccines to all regions of Ukraine have already been worked out, and there should be no delays.

The drug will be delivered to hospitals by mobile teams. First of all, they will vaccinate doctors of medical institutions providing assistance to coronavirus patients, then - workers of somatic hospitals, emergency medical care, family doctors, etc..

" But it should be voluntary - no one needs to be forced, it is better to inform people in detail about the proper quality of the drug, "

Viktor Lyashko said that many medical specialists have already had coronavirus, having received immunity for the coming months.

As the chief sanitary doctor specified, at the second stage, in accordance with the schedule, the vaccination of the military is envisaged..

Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed his readiness to get vaccinated together with the military as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
