They tried to erase the memory of this by sending people to Siberia, to other territories, forbidding to talk about it, hoping that the people would forget history and become a slave. But these things must not be forgotten.. In independent Ukraine, we got the opportunity to speak, explore our history. Today it is important, especially for the Kharkiv region, where the most people suffered from the Holodomor, to remember this. On this memory, generations are brought up who value their freedom and will not neglect it.. Generations that will not be able to enslave, ”said the deputy chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

Candles in memory of the Ukrainians starved to death were also lit near the building of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
