A flock of vultures feasting at the Ol Pejeta Nature Reserve in Kenya. But such treats are not safe to try everywhere.. In other parts of Kenya, carcasses are often poisoned and birds die.

The main reason is the conflict between nature and man.

Farmers stuff animal carcasses with pesticides. But vultures and other birds of prey are the first to try them.. As a result, several dozen birds may die at a time..

And it takes decades to restore the population as scavengers reproduce slowly.

Four out of eight vulture species in Kenya are already endangered.

The population of the brown vulture has decreased by 90% in 45 years.

Experts say that due to the decrease in the number of these birds, the entire ecosystem of the region will suffer..

US conservation organization Peregrine Fund offers training for farmers. They will not only be told what not to do, but will also be helped to solve the problem..

The project will work in Laikipia and Samburu districts where there are reserves. They are home to lions, black rhinos, elephants and zebras..
