Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said that they are starting a pilot project to treat COVID-19 with blood plasma, and they will start with plasma sampling. He said this during a briefing, reports UNN.

" ) we adopted an important resolution on the beginning of the implementation of such a pilot project of experimental treatment for the collection of hyperimmune plasma, then with the manufacture of immunoglobulin. What it is? Hyperimmune plasma is plasma from people who have already had COVID-19. And this plasma has antibodies. Now in many countries of the world (leading countries) - a clinical trial is taking place specifically for immunoglobulin, which is made from such plasma. We also start this process.

First, we need to collect the plasma and then transfer it to the manufacture of this immunoglobulin, so that later, within the framework of clinical trials, we begin to use it on the territory of Ukraine, "

According to him, the immunoglobulin itself, which underwent clinical trials in Ukraine and was used during the coronavirus disease, showed good results and will be included in the treatment protocol if doctors decide so.
