Police have prevented the illegal movement of 300 kg of radioactive berries and mushrooms from the Exclusion Zone. Reported by the communication department of the police of the Kiev region.

During July, the police zones of the Chernobyl NPP warned 14 facts of illegal movement of forest berries and mushrooms through the territory of the Zone of radioactive contamination, and brought 16 violators to administrative responsibility.

It was found that 300 kg of wild berries and 20 kg of mushrooms confiscated from citizens on the territory of the Exclusion Zone were twice the permissible norms for the content of radioactive elements cesium and strontium.. Criminal proceedings have been opened on all revealed facts of violation of the requirements of the radiation safety regime.
