Romania extends entry ban for foreigners until August 15

The Romanian government extended the emergency regime for 30 days and until August 15 extended the ban on entry into the country for foreigners, including citizens of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Embassy in Romania reports on its Facebook page..

" According to. 2 tbsp. 2 of Annex 3 of the said decision, it is prohibited to enter the territory of Romania through checkpoints on the state border of foreign citizens and stateless persons, "

An exception to this prohibition applies to the following categories of persons:.

family members of Romanian citizens;

family members of citizens of other EU Member States, the European Economic Area or Switzerland who are entitled to reside in Romania;

persons holding long-term visas, a residence permit or a document equivalent to a residence permit issued by the competent authorities or other equivalent document issued by the competent authorities of other states, in accordance with EU law;

persons who enter Romania for a professional purpose, as evidenced by the obtained visa, residence permit or other equivalent document, respectively, medical professionals, medical researchers, geriatric care workers, as well as carriers and other categories of personnel involved in the transportation of goods,;

diplomatic or consular personnel, personnel of international organizations, military personnel or personnel who may provide humanitarian assistance;

persons in transit, including those repatriated as part of obtaining consular protection;

passengers traveling for imperative reasons;

persons in need of international protection or other humanitarian reasons;

foreigners and stateless persons who travel for study purposes;

foreigners and stateless persons, highly skilled workers, if their employment is necessary from an economic point of view, and the activity cannot be postponed or carried out abroad foreigners and stateless persons, cross-border workers, seasonal agricultural workers, personnel of sea and river transport;

members of international sports delegations participating in sports competitions organized on the territory of Romania, by law.

Particular attention is paid to the regime of temporary transit through the territory of Romania, which is permitted only under the following conditions:.



only in a continuous manner and exclusively on a route approved by the competent authorities of Romania;

in the presence of relevant documents confirming the transit purpose of the trip and giving grounds for entry into the country of destination;

transit travel to countries, in particular the Republic of Bulgaria, for tourist purposes is possible if there are documents confirming the purpose of the trip (tourist voucher, hotel booking, etc.). ) and give grounds for entering the country of destination.
