From January 1, 2021, Ukrainians will be able to independently choose a bank for receiving wages due to the introduction of the international IBAN account standard in Ukraine.

The National Bank explained that after the introduction of an international bank account number in Ukraine, the employer was able to create a statement on the salary transfer to employees indicating the account number of the employee according to the IBAN standard, including the account that the employee independently opened in the bank of his choice.

" Such a right is stipulated by the legislation on remuneration of labor, and we want it to be really realized in practice.. After all, this will stimulate banks to compete, will help increase the level of customer service and expand the range of banking services, "
