Japan, due to the coronavirus pandemic, has expanded the list of countries from which entry is prohibited, including Ukraine and 13 other countries from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The relevant decision was approved on Monday by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, reports UNN with reference to Kyodo.

“Measures on these 14 countries will come into force on April 29,” Shinzo Abe said following a government meeting.

The head of government approved the extension of the suspension of the issuance of visas to all foreigners until the end of May.

In particular, these rules will now apply to the UAE, Russia, Belarus, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Peru and the Dominican Republic. The list totals 87 states. Previously, the United States, China, South Korea, the EU and Southeast Asia were included..

Those traveling in the designated countries for two weeks prior to visiting Japan will also be denied entry. With regard to Ukraine, the measures are in fact formal, since air traffic between the countries has been suspended since mid-March.
