As head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrey Yermak will continue to deal with issues that he worked on as an assistant to the head of state, in particular, the negotiation process with the Russian Federation and the release of Ukrainian prisoners.

" I think this is the most important task that we received from the President of Ukraine.. And we will fulfill it, "

Answering the question of journalists about the possibility of holding local elections in the Donbass in October this year, the head of the Office noted that this is a logical step, because at that time local elections are planned throughout Ukraine. But such elections should be held exclusively according to Ukrainian law and subject to Ukraine returning control of the eastern border.

He also assured that the statements of individual politicians about the possibility of launching water supply on the territory of the occupied Crimean peninsula in exchange for regaining control of the Donbass are only their personal opinion.

Andrei Ermak emphasized that after the end of the war in the Donbass, this region should be made a region with a developed economy.

At the same time, Andrei Yermak said that there is no planned meeting between President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin before the next Summit in Normandy format.

" If he sees that such a meeting is necessary, it can be a step towards obtaining the real results of the negotiations in the Norman format, we do not exclude this, "
