Conscription for young men aged 18 and 19 years will be held on a voluntary basis.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to Minister Andrei Zagorodniuk, the relevant explanations were sent to the regional state administrations.

According to him, this year from the age of 20, conscription will be compulsory, and from 18 and 19 only with the consent of the conscripts.
The Minister also recalled that military servicemen were not involved and would not be involved in the operation of the Joint Forces.
At the same time, he clarified that citizens of Ukraine can sign a contract for serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the age of 18.
Zagorodniuk also said that the relevant clarifications will soon be published on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
