The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture has developed two scenarios regarding inflation expectations for 2021-2022. This was written on Facebook by Minister of Economy Timofei Milovanov.

According to the basic forecast, inflation is expected in 2020 at the level of 5.5%, in 2021 - 5.3%, in 2022 - 5.1%.

Optimistic forecast for inflation: 5.8% in 2020, 5.0% in 2021 and 2022.

According to Milovanov, the difference between basic and optimistic forecasts is due to the level of investment in the economy. " In order for this scenario to be realized, we need a better business climate, the absence of corruption in government and in the localities, a functioning judiciary, and reforms (including a liberal land market and privatization), ”the Minister wrote.

He also noted that under the optimistic scenario, inflation will be slightly higher in the first year, by 0.3%. “Due to increased activity due to investments,” Milovanov explained.
