Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Tatyana Slipachuk at the press conference "First steps and the nearest plans of the CEC" announced that the Law of Ukraine "On the Election of the President of Ukraine" does not take into account the existence of an ID-card, therefore it will be impossible for its owners to ensure some procedures stipulated by law.

The State Migration Service of Ukraine notes that a passport of a citizen of Ukraine in the form of an ID-card is an identity document and confirming the citizenship of Ukraine. This document is the basis for obtaining a ballot paper at polling stations and grants the right to vote in the election of the President of Ukraine to persons who were 18 years old on election day. Consequently, ID-card holders can in no way be limited in the right to vote in the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine..
