US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo commented on the “Game of Thrones” meme battle between American President Donald Trump and Iranian Major General Kasem Suleymani.

In early November, Trump posted a meme in his Twitter with a reference to the slogan of the well-known Game of Thrones TV series "Winter is close" - his own photo with the words "sanction is near" and the date "November 5" (this day American sanctions against Iran come into force).

Iranian Major General Kasem Suleymani, commander of the special unit "Al-Quds", published a photo in a similar style with the signature "I stand against you".

"You start a war, but we end it. You should not insult the Iranian people ", - wrote Suleymani.

And this is not funny. And the actions taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran concern very serious issues that affect the whole of Europe, the Middle East and the world, "said Pompeo..

Finally, we note that the American television station HBO, the creator of Game of Thrones, asked not to use the show for political purposes after Trump published a meme with reference to the TV series.

The company also posted on Twitter a comic question for saga fans, how to translate "trademark misuse" into the fictional Dothrakian language..

How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?.
