Residents of Ireland and Great Britain, more than other Europeans, are engaged in charity work - both of these countries are in the top ten of the world rating of private charity World Giving Index 2018.
Ireland ranked 5th in the world, UK - 6th.
Headed the rating of Indonesia, followed by Australia and New Zealand, writes Europuls.
In the rating of private philanthropy, three indicators are estimated: how much money do citizens of a particular country donate to charity, how much time they devote to volunteer work, and do they often help strangers just. Experts noted that, on average, the world’s donations to charity decreased, but people began to devote more time to volunteering, especially women.
The rating is made annually by the British charity foundation CAF.
