Yesterday an informational event was held in Kharkov, dedicated to the opening of the new IT school of the Beetroot Academy in Kharkov with the support of the governments of Sweden and Estonia. This is the first of ten schools that Beetroot Academy plans to open in Ukraine as part of a cooperation agreement with Sweden, signed in July 2018, told the Chief in the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine.
The event was attended by the Swedish Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Hagstrom, the founders of the Beetroot Academy, representatives of the Estonian Embassy and the Kharkiv Regional Administration.
"I am pleased to take part in the opening of the IT-School of the Beetroot Academy in Kharkov. At the same time, we are pleased to announce the launch of our cooperation between the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine and the Beetroot Academy, which will result in the opening of 10 new IT schools throughout Ukraine. We are convinced that these schools, which in the future should become financially independent, will make a contribution to the socio-economic development of Ukraine and will open the way for many Ukrainians to a successful IT sector.. And as shown by the example of scholarships funded by the Estonian government, these schools will also become a platform to support women in IT, as well as vulnerable groups such as IDPs, ”the Swedish Ambassador said.
Support The Beetroot Academy is part of a larger support program that Sweden provides to Ukraine.. Swedish assistance focuses on improving regulations for small and medium businesses, banking sector reform, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
We are convinced that the IT sector is one of the most competitive in Ukraine and more people can get economic benefits from working in this sector.. Our support for IT education in Ukraine is an important element in promoting inclusive economic growth in the country..
