More than 100 thousand people went on the eve of a march in Berlin against xenophobia and right-wing forces, in particular AdG ("Alternative for Germany", whose supporters see Putin and Asad as "role models").

The organizers of the march were human rights organizations. Marsh was unexpectedly crowded, reports BBC News.

In many parts of Germany, support for the right-wing populist party has been growing in recent years. Alternative for Germany, which advocates a ban on immigration.

Last year, the AdG party for the first time went to the Bundestag, forming the largest opposition faction. It is expected that in elections in the land of Bavaria this Sunday she can get mandates in the local parliament.

Participants marched through the center of Berlin to the square at the Brandenburg Gate.. Many of the demonstrators write in social networks that they are in defense of human rights, especially the rights of migrants.

"Many people believe that they can ignore human rights. Therefore, it’s time to declare that there are other people who support free-thinking, "wrote one of the participants of the protest march.

This march was a response to the growing influence of the AdG party, which especially increased in the eastern part of the country..

In August, right-wing groups held protests in Chemnitz and other cities, the cause of which were the attacks of migrants, which led to the death of a German man.

The sharp increase in migration in 2015, when more than a million migrants arrived in Germany, spurred the popularity of AdH, although since then the influx of migrants has decreased significantly.
