On the second place was Denmark, the third was shared by Finland and Germany.
Countries in the ranking were assessed according to seven criteria: the amount of economic assistance to poor countries, investments in their economies, success in developing and disseminating new technologies, policies in trade with developing countries, environmental care, security and policy towards migrants.
The "Commitment to Development Index" rating is made annually by the American non-profit organization Center for Global Development. The rating includes 27 member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The top lines are traditionally occupied by the countries of Northern Europe: last year the rating was headed by Denmark, and in 2016 - Finland.
