In St. Petersburg, policemen ate food that relatives handed over to detainees at a rally against pension reform on September 9. This "Mediason" was reported by the lawyer Yuri Botukh, representing the interests of activists in the Primorsky District Court.
Botuh noted that it was not possible to transfer the food directly to the participants of the action, so the package with the products was left in a minibus where the detainees were brought from the department to the court building.
"We asked the driver if it is possible to leave and transfer. Answered: "Yes". Subsequently, they saw how the [police] employees were eating up food from this package, "said the lawyer.
September 9 in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities took action against raising the retirement age, which resulted in clashes with the police. According to the "ATS-Info", across Russia detained more than a thousand people, most in St. Petersburg. Three people were accused of violence against guards.
