The Verkhovna Rada voted for bill No. 2668-1, which expands the possibilities for the social protection of servicemen.
The bill "The Law on Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Relating to the Enhancement of the Social Protection of Servicemen" provides for the payment of a lump-sum allowance to families of the military who died within a year of being laid off due to illness or injury sustained during military service. Also, according to the law, the right to a lump sum is paid by the military, who lost their ability to work due to a trauma received during the performance of their duties within three months of being laid off.
For the bill voted 261 MP, three abstained. The law will enter into force on the next day after publication.
