Judge Serik Makhambetov said that the trial will be held in Kazakh, as the pre-trial investigation was conducted in this language. Relatives of the victims - the injured party - said that they do not speak Kazakh and Russian, and asked to provide an interpreter who knows Uzbek. After a petition for an interpreter in court, a lunch break was announced.

The relatives of the accused arrived to court in Aktobe from the south of Kazakhstan. The bus driver's sister Maksata Pernebekova Nurshat Pernebaykova expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that there are no two Uzbeks who survived on the bus, who saw the fire with their own eyes.

In the dock - five people. Three of them are bus drivers. The defendants are also the founder of the transport company "Asia transit service" and the mechanic of this company. Bus drivers - Nurzhan Kyrgyzbayev, Maksat Pernebekov and Barat Tanatov - are under arrest in the remand prison of Aktobe on January 26, 2018. They are charged with violating the requirements of fire safety and rules for the operation of vehicles, which caused the death of two or more persons. Other two defendants under a written undertaking not to leave the place.

The founder of the company is accused that he did not properly fulfill his obligations as a legal entity and put into operation a faulty vehicle, forged documents. Mechanics are charged with issuing a bus route with malfunctions.

The bus carrying citizens of Uzbekistan, caught fire on the morning of January 18 on the road in the Irgiz region of the Aktobe region. Five people were saved, 52 died on the spot. The cause of the fire is the careless handling of fire. According to the investigation, drivers used a blowtorch to heat the interior.
