The Israeli Defense Forces changed the concept of first aid to those wounded on the battlefield. If earlier the rate was made for rapid evacuation, now the military doctors and medical officers are faced with a different task: urgent assistance, up to operations, must be carried out at the front.

Major General Yitzhak Turgeman, head of the Department of Technology and Logistics, briefed journalists on the new concept and new technologies that will be used by the medical service in the course of the next war.

Against the backdrop of tension on the northern border, the army is preparing for the fact that the next war can take place on the territory of the enemy, and in this case the use of helicopters for evacuation of the wounded will be difficult. Therefore, the necessary assistance, up to the operations, should be provided on site.

According to the medical service of the IDF, 90% of the soldiers who were seriously injured can be saved if the bleeding is stopped, which is the main cause of death. In the case of internal bleeding, the wounded person needs surgery. Military hospitals will be deployed in captured buildings on enemy territory, at the front - operational ones will be placed in tents.

The IDF intends to strengthen the medical teams with nurses and medical officers who will serve in combat units. Each battalion is supposed to be provided with such brigades, writes newsru. co. il This decision was made after specialists of the logistics department came to the conclusion: on the battlefield the doctor, instead of helping the wounded, is often busy solving issues that can be dealt with by members of the auxiliary team.

Training of the first group of nurses and nurses will be started in October, the Ministry of Health will participate in financing the course together with the army. After three years of training, nurses and nurses will serve in combat units.

To deliver the necessary equipment and medicines on the battlefield, it is planned to use large drones that can lift cargo up to 40 kg and deliver it for a distance of up to 8 km. UAV, which was tested this week during the exercises of the 36th Division, crashed. However, according to the military, this was due to operator error.

The IDF also presented a "smart bracelet" that will track the condition of the injured person from the moment of injury before entering the hospital. A trial lot of 30 bracelets and 10 "smart sets" for assistance have already been transferred to two combat units and are being tested.

In the medical service, the IDF is eagerly waiting for the end of work on virtual reality glasses that will allow military doctors to consult with leading specialists in the rear.

Head of the Technology and Logistics Department of the IDF Yitzhak Turjeman noted that the IDF is betting on an "intelligent", "unmanned" technique that can be controlled from a distance. "Unmanned" cars are planned to be used to deliver food and ammunition to the advanced, for the transport of heavy equipment, as well as fuel delivery.
