Sociologists reported on the growth of xenophobia in Russia

Every third respondent (32 percent) considers "unwanted" Roma, in 2017 this figure was 17 percent. Among the five "undesirable" ethnic groups also included the Chinese (an increase from 15 to 31 percent per year), Vietnamese (growth from 12 to 26 percent), "natives of the former Central Asian republics of the USSR" (increase from 19 to 25 percent) and "natives Caucasus "(an increase from 22 to 23 percent).

Accommodation in the Russian Federation would be limited to 17 percent of survey respondents (in July 2017 - 8 percent), Jews - 12 percent (last year's figure - 4 percent). 16 percent of respondents consider it undesirable to live in Russia of all nations, except Russian. Still, only a little more than a quarter (28 percent) of the respondents said that no restrictions should be imposed on the residence of any nation.

Experts "Levada Center" note that over the past year, redistributed antipathies of Russians against various ethnic groups.

"Previously, the population showed a high level of support for isolationist attitudes towards" people from the Caucasus "and" people from Central Asia, "now about Roma and Chinese people," said sociologist Karina Pipia.
