On one of the beaches near the village Liplyave Kanevsky district of the Cherkassy region experienced a new sport - ploging. Its essence is to collect garbage while jogging for speed.
The event was attended by about 30 participants from seven joint communities of the region.
"Plowing is a run where you do not just go in for sports, but take with you some kind of package or some kind of container to collect garbage collected on the road. So you can just clean your city, "- said ecoactivist Lydia Kryshtop.
For 40 minutes each team collected almost twenty sacks of garbage, which amounted to about 720 kilograms. Plastic, glass and mixed waste immediately sorted into multi-colored bags, reports 24 Channel.
Glass and plastic are taken to the processing plant, and mixed waste - immediately to the dump. Winners of the race received a cash reward.
