To fully restore the way to Sumy, road workers work around the clock. Every day on the road - about 70 units of equipment and 100 workers. It is Kharkiv - Akhtyrka is defined in the region as a priority in road construction for 2018.
"A lot of roads are being repaired in the region. This year it is planned to repair about 15 state and 80 local. For example, in a terrible state roads to the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This year we are completing their repairs. A separate issue is the road Kharkov - Sumy. Everyone known, she was in very serious condition. The road from Kharkov to Sumy was built as early as 1952 - 1956 and since then has never been completely repaired, although it should be done every 12 years. As a result, not only the coating, but also the base.
"The condition of the road was really treacherous. Destructions were up to the ground, pits - more than 90%, in some areas the road was completely destroyed - with the ground, "says Vyacheslav Nazarenko, the leading engineer of the department of construction and repair of highways and artificial structures of the Highway Service in the Kharkov region.
As a result, specialists had to develop several design solutions to restore the base of the road. Where it was possible, it was repaired by the method of cold recycling (that is, using the asphalt that was removed with a milling cutter). But in some areas it was impossible.
"From Bogodukhov in the direction of Kharkov below the bottom is paving stone. The milling cutter can not prune it. Therefore, asphalt concrete was cut to pavers, and then, to distribute the load, the base was laid from the crushed stone-sand mixture with the addition of cement. It was well spilled with water (during the day, watered from 5 to 10 times), so that the cement clamped, and the base gained strength, "- says Vyacheslav Nazarenko.
After the base of the road was restored, it began to lay a leveling layer of asphalt concrete. Now this work is almost completed, and road workers are moving to laying the upper layer of asphalt. Ahead - marking, arrangement of stops and installation of traffic signs.
"The road will be made in full construction. It is guaranteed to "stay" for 12 years, "- says the head of the Highway Service in the Kharkov region Evgeny Zrazhevets.
Recall, the road Kharkiv - Akhtyrka is the most intensive in the region. It runs 20,000 cars a day, and at peak hours - even more.
In addition, the track is the most difficult, because most of it passes through the settlements.
Repair work on the track began in 2016. Then they made the first 16 km of the way. In 2017 - another 18 km. Also, on behalf of the head of HOGA Yulia Svetlichnaya, last year the Gubarevsky overpass was rebuilt, which was dismantled 10 years ago. This was an obligatory stage for the further repair of the route. Now on the road Kharkiv - Akhtyrka reconstruct another bridge - near the village of Kupevaha.
