In Moscow, a flash mob was held in support of political prisoner Oleg Sentsov. As reported by Russian media, the event took place at the monument to Griboyedov on Chistoprudny Boulevard. Anyone could leave flowers at the monument. At the same time, some left the bouquets in bottles, on which it was written "Oleg, live".

As the initiator of the action, Alexei Medvedev, said in his blog, the event was planned in the form of a single picket, in connection with which he asked all other participants not to talk with him, since it "can be regarded as a violation of the rules of a single picket". The action did without detentions, notes "Novaya Gazeta". Simultaneously, in other parts of the boulevard there were other single pickets in support of Sentsov.

Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov was detained by FSB officers in Russia annexed to Crimea in May 2014 on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.

In August 2015, he was found guilty and convicted by a Russian court for 20 years in a strict-regime colony for organizing terrorist attacks on the territory of the Crimea. His guilt Sentsov did not recognize, considering the process politically motivated. In the spring of 2018, Sentsov announced an indefinite hunger strike, demanding from the Kremlin, as it was said in his statement, the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners. The hunger strike of Sentsov has been going on for 83 days.
