The Regional Dispensary for Radiological Protection of the Population started the first overhaul in 25 years. Now builders put in order the roof over the building, where the hospital is located, the work also goes to the reception room, physiotherapy, departments of functional diagnostics and statistics. At the same time, the rooms of the 4th floor are free for further work, where the operblock and resuscitation are located.

Reconstruction in the main Chernobyl hospital in the region is financed from two sources - at the expense of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the regional budget. The allocation of the necessary amount was achieved by the head of HOGA Yulia Svetlichnaya.

"Annually up to 100 thousand people receive medical care within the walls of this dispensary. Many who promised Chernobyl victims to make major repairs in the radiation protection dispensary. We did not promise, we are doing it, "said the head of HOGA, having familiarized himself with the already started works and project plans. - Repair work has begun. Financing is. Today we made a number of decisions together with the Chernobyl assets, the hospital management, and contractors, so that the hospital can be reconstructed as soon as possible. In the plans for the overhaul of the dispensary - the replacement of all communications, window blocks in the buildings, the repair of bathrooms, roofing over the vegetable storehouse and warehouse, the facade and a number of internal premises of the building.

Representatives of public organizations of Chernobyl who, together with the head of the region, inspected the progress of work and listened to the explanations of the contractor, note: repairs have been sought for more than 10 years, but so far only promises have been received.

"The condition in which the dispensary was before 2005, we were satisfied with. Since 2005, we raised the issue of capital repairs. There were promises, unfortunately, they remained unfulfilled. Only thanks to Julia Svetlichnaya, on her initiative, the regional council supported us, and we came to the fact that today there are practical steps to carry out repairs, "says the chairman of the Kharkov regional organization" Chernobyl Union of Ukraine "Anatoly Vinnik.
