Two modernized diesel locomotives TGM4B-UGMK and TGM6-UMMC were commissioned into the branch "Production of polymetals" "Uralelectromed" (enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex), which showed their efficiency in shunting operations. Locomotives were modernized at the "Shadrinsky auto-aggregate plant" (the enterprise of the machine-building complex of UMMC).

"Modernized locomotives are reliable in management," says Roman Klunov, the chief of the railway workshop "Production of Polymetals". - Above are the technical and economic indicators. So, the consumption of diesel fuel decreased: from 10.5 to 9.1 kg / l-h. New engines up to 880 kW (up to 1200 l). c) are two times smaller than diesels of the same power in old cars. This favorably affects the work during the maintenance period due to the increased free space in the engine compartment. In addition, these engines have a lower emission factor of harmful substances in the atmosphere, which reduces the load on the environment ".

As experts of the enterprise note, from the moment of reception of diesel locomotives of series ТГМ-УГМК the frequency of occurrence of emergency failures has considerably decreased. At the end of this year and in September the next one expects the arrival of two more diesel locomotives of the upgraded TGM6-UMMC series, which will increase the reliability of operation and traffic safety on the railway tracks.

Highly appreciated by the new locomotive drivers of locomotives. Now their workplace is a spacious cabin equipped with two control panels, each of which can control the movement of the locomotive in both directions. During the movement on the touch interactive computer display information about the parameters of all systems. For comfortable work in the cockpit there is air conditioning, and during the break you can use the fridge and microwave.
