On July 27 and 28, the celebration of the anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.
The main events will be held on the Vladimir Hill and in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
Representatives of the clergy say that as part of the celebration of the 1030th anniversary of Epiphany in Kiev, believers will be able to worship unique Christian relics. Among them: the relics of Prince Vladimir, the priest-martyr Clement - bishop of Rome, the holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
After the solemn moleben and the procession, the shrines will be available around the clock for worship in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, in the Refectory Church of St. Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves.
It is truly unique that all these relics were collected by spiritual fathers at one time and in one place, so that each of those who came to celebrate the Orthodox could pray and ask for help in their sorrow or in their work.
For example, Andrew the First-Called is usually prayed by sailors and all those whose affairs are connected with sea voyages. They remember Andrei Pervozvanny and with requests for support for the defenders of their Motherland. He also receives prayers for the unity of the people under the Christian principle, which is especially important in the context of conflicts that tear Ukraine apart.
In addition, the footstep of Andrew the First-Called will remind believers of how the apostle Andrew, after walking along the Dnieper, came to the place where our capital stands now, and for many years before the Baptism of Rus, predicted that the great grace of God would shine on this place.
The relics of Prince Vladimir, as a rule, are prayed by parents, whose children suffer from diseases. As during the life of the prince did not leave his numerous children with attention, so after his death he contributes to their healing - both parents and children themselves can kiss the ark with the shrine, uttering a simple but pure prayer from the heart, asking for healing.
At the solemn prayer service there will also be the relics of the Holy Martyr Clement, Bishop of Rome, who Vladimir the Great received as a gift at the adoption of Holy Baptism. For a long time, the head of St. Clement was the only shrine that united the newly baptized on our land.
On the holy hill, one-on-one prayers will also be held before the Zimny ??Icon of the Mother of God, to which Prince Vladimir blessed his son Vsevolod for marriage.
About those who defended the Orthodox faith from Communists with their feat, will recall the icon with a part of the relics of the martyr Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev. By the way, this year passed 100 years since the day of his martyr's death.
The role and place of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for Orthodoxy will be emphasized by an icon with a part of the relics of the holy Monk Seraphim of Sarov. Before you go to Sarov and found a monastery there, this greatest saint of God came to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra specifically and asked for the blessings of her elders. The Monk Seraphim of Sarov is known to have happened by his prayer with numerous miracles, his meekness and remarkable teaching: "Stretch the spirit of peace, and thousands will be saved around you".
Also, pilgrims will have the opportunity to bow to the holy relics of the Great Martyr George the Victorious, who has long been asked to protect, protect from evil and enemies - for himself and his relatives, and for strangers.
This holy shrine of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra was given by the Athos monks as a sign of unity between the Holy Mountain and Lavra, the founder who in turn took the blessing on Mount Athos to pursue the Kiev slopes.
Accompanied by the believers, these seven shrines will pass through the streets of Kiev, blessing and protecting the capital of our country and all its inhabitants.
