In Severouralsk there was a failure in the channel of the river Kalja. As a result, the river water got into the water intake and, as a consequence, the quality of drinking water deteriorated.

"Residents of the city of Severouralsk through management companies and local media are informed of the evolving situation with water supply, they are given recommendations on limiting the use of tap water for drinking and cooking," the EMERCOM of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region.

Arrangement of drinking water for social facilities, as well as for low-mobility citizens. The question on the additional import of bottled drinking water for the population is being addressed. For the period of restoration works and as a temporary measure it also suggests using water from springs, but only after boiling.
