Japanese Princess Ayako Takamado announced that she will marry a common man and renounce the royal status. This is reported by CNN.

The Imperial Court of Japan officially announced that the third and youngest daughter of Prince Norihito Takamado will marry a 32-year-old man Kei Moria who works in a shipping company.

Lovers met less than a year ago. Engagement is scheduled for August 12, wedding - on October 29. The last event will be held in the Meiji temple. The pair admits that they have moved closer on the basis of a common desire to contribute to global prosperity. In addition, they both love skiing, books and travel.



According to the imperial customs, the girl will lose the royal rank, as soon as the wedding ceremony takes place. Nevertheless, it will receive about a million dollars.

Ayako is not the first princess who sacrificed her title for the sake of love. Priest Mako Akishino, granddaughter of the reigning emperor of Japan Akihito and Empress Mitiko intended to bind herself by marriage to a commoner. In September 2017, the engagement took place. However, in February this year the couple announced that they are not yet ready for marriage.
