On June 23 and 24, judo competitions took place in the Slovene Podchetrte, where the bronze medalist was Kharkiv.
420 sportsmen from 27 countries of the world took part in the Cup. Ukraine was represented by 32 judoists, among whom were Kharkovites.
In the weight category up to 100 kg Alexander Mindyla. On the way to the medal, he won against rivals from Germany and Russia, but in the semifinals he conceded to another Russian Arman Adamyan, who eventually won. In a duel for third place, Alexander defeated a wrestler from Slovenia.
Another Kharkov judoka Artem Kharchenko stopped at the European Cup in a step from the medal.
In the weight category up to 81 kg, he successfully fought against two wrestlers from Germany, won the representative of Hungary, but in the semifinals he conceded to another Hungarian Benedek Toth, who eventually became a silver medalist. In the battle for the "bronze" Artem also could not overcome the athlete from Hungary Robert Raikaya and took the fifth place in the end.
In total, at the European Cup, the Ukrainian team won 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals.
