The court refused to extend the ban on going to the territory of the Crimea annexed by Russia for captain of the Russian vessel "Nord" Vladimir Gorbenko.
This is stated in the decree of the Kherson City Court of June 8.
It is noted that the prosecutor requested the extension of the term of Gorbenko's obligations for 60 days, - to arrive to the investigator, the prosecutor, the judge at the first request, not to visit the occupied peninsula.
According to the prosecutor, Gorbenko is being investigated for an illegal mining business, and he may abscond from investigation, destroy or misrepresent evidence, or commit another criminal offense.
Investigative judge Dmitry Gontar said that the prosecutor had to file a petition to extend the measure of restraint, and not to extend the obligations imposed on Gorbenko, and rejected the petition.
The decision of the court is not subject to appeal.
It should be noted that, as part of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the citizen of Ukraine, the captain of the "Norda" Gorbenko, left March 24, 2018 from the port in occupied Kerch in the direction of the Azov Sea for commercial fishing. On the ship found invalid documents issued by the "authorities" of the peninsula. It was illegally caught 5627 kilograms of fish for 96.9 thousand hryvnia.
