The Ecumenical Patriarchy faces the obligations and responsibility to return the peoples of Ukraine and Macedonia to the truth and canonical framework of the Church. This was stated by Patriarch Bartholomew during the liturgy this week, reports UNN with reference to the Religious Information Service of Ukraine.

"The existence of a split is not an argument to deprive the entire nation of ties with the church's truth and canonicity, denying our responsibility to God and history, but rather as an incentive for finding salutary and unifying solutions," said the Orthodox First Hierarch.

"When the Mother Church is looking for ways to save our brothers from Ukraine and Skopje (Macedonia - ed.. ), she fulfills her apostolic duty. Our responsibility and responsibility are to lead these peoples back to the church truth and the canonical order. Therefore, what occupies the Ecumenical Patriarchate, it occupies the benefit of the whole world and invites all peoples without exception. In this context, there is also an inter-Christian dialogue that acts "in love and truth," said the Ecumenical Patriarch.
