Actions of pro-Russian activists in Latvia, which can be interpreted as radical, law enforcement agencies should be stopped already at the very beginning. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Latvia Maris Kuchinskis, reports LNT.

"For the anti-state actions the country will punish all the severity of the law," he said, adding that such actions "will show Latvia's state position".

At the same time, the head of government stressed that such actions by law enforcers should not be regarded as a restriction of freedom of speech in the country.

In addition, the Latvian Prime Minister spoke about the reasons for the detention of pro-Russian activists Alexander Gaponenko and Vladimir Linderman.

According to Kuchinskis, the security police received information about "extremely anti-state activities" associated with protests against the reform of schools of national minorities.
