Today in Kharkov and the region in the flower-laying ceremony took part veterans of World War II and local wars, ATO participants, volunteers, representatives of the public, state authorities and local self-government.

"Today Ukraine together with Europe and the whole world celebrate the Day of Memory and Reconciliation. We honor the courage and devotion of all those who won the victory in World War II. Today we must reject all political and ideological moments that divide our society, because the main goal of those times was to liberate our native land from the enemy. And, only having united, we have achieved a victory. Therefore, let's build the future together and unite for the sake of the future, "said the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yulia Svetlichnaya.

According to her, on May 8 and 9 in the region there will be about 1300 events dedicated to the Day of Memory and Reconciliation and the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II.

So, on May 8 at 23:01 Kharkiv region will join the action "The first minute of the world" - at this moment candles will be lit in memory of those killed in the Second World War.

The central regional event on May 9 will be held at the memorial in the village of Solonicevka, Dergachevsky district.
