The information countermeasures system, which began work today in the ATU zone, will completely block Russian analogue and digital TV and radio broadcasting along the entire Ukrainian-Russian border. This was stated by NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, the press service of this body.

He noted that Ukraine, according to international obligations, this year should go exclusively to the digital broadcasting standard.

According to Turchinov, along the Ukrainian-Russian border, "the place of Ukrainian analog broadcasting, which the broadcasting will stop, may try to seize Russian TV channels".

"The technology used in the complex information countermeasures system, once deployed in certain regions, will completely block Russian analogue and digital TV and radio broadcasting along the entire Russian-Ukrainian border," Turchinov said..

The NSDC secretary noted that this would provide an opportunity to protect Ukrainian citizens from "dirty flows of cynical information aggression that rushes from Russian TV and radio broadcasting".

Today Ukraine along the line of demarcation in Donbass has launched a system of blocking the broadcasting of Russian TV channels. The system blocks analogue and digital television signals that are distributed from temporarily occupied territories, the chairman of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection Leonid Evdochenko.
